May Catch Up

The month of May is not only the best because the weather starts getting warmer and it’s when Eurovision graces our screen, it is also the month I celebrate my birthday… so I am not biased at all! The office has had SO much going on and not everything can be revealed just yet but it is all very exciting!

Josh was featured in not one but TWO papers on the same day this month! It was a busy day for sure.

The i paper was discussing the responsibility productions companies have as the return of Love Island begins next week. This comes after the death of contestants and guests not just on Love Island but also Jeremy Kyle. Josh said “It’s so easy to be commercially minded but we have to be better; we have to be more cognisant of the change we can make in our industry.” To read the full article, click here.

Broadcast’s latest edition was guest edited by Sir Lenny Henry who focused on the subject of diversity. Josh was featured, and raised his concerns about the lack of progression our industry for promoting diversity. Josh said  “Of course, training is important for everyone in the industry, but it shouldn’t be used as a reason to keep the door shut – as if what we do is rocket-science.” See what else he and other companies said here!

This month was also London’s Comic Con. As we have said before, Duncan is a huge expert in all things comics and was asked to be on one of the panels for this years event.

In september we partnered with Go Uni who help students look for relevant experience in their chosen field. Our friends at Go Uni were invited to the London Business Show this month and we got featured in some of their posters! Catching up with them it sounds like they had a great day!

Travel

As I mentioned last month, Josh was heading to Barcelona and also managed to catch the match between Liverpool and Barcelona It was a quick stop over but worth it to see the game even though his team lost!

This was not the only place Josh was travelling to this month. He also headed to Canada where he caught up with a few friends and met some cool companies out in Toronto. If you didn’t know, Josh lived out in Canada for a little bit.

Duncan and Stuart were also out of the office this month! They headed up to Manchester and it was a chance for Stuart to visit the Blue Peter gardens in the glorious sunshine! It was only a day trip but news on what they were up to will be coming soon!

In the office

So as I’ve mentioned already May is my birthday month and I was truly spoiled in the office by the team! We had a little lunch at our classic lunch spot and my favourite moment was the great rendition of Happy Birthday that the team sang to me. As you can see Duncan really went for the WWP cover of the song!

Not only is Josh an executive producer and Forbes 30 under 30 list maker and judge, he is also able to be there when you’ve pulled one to many muscles in the gym. This was Josh showing me how to stretch out my back when I realised I had slightly overdone it at the gym or is it my age catching up to me?

As the weather was so nice at the beginning of the May, we made good use of being so close to the river and headed outside for lunch.
