Jumanji returns two years on from the last film however from the reviews, it would seem that the sequel is bucking the trend and actually on par with its predecessor! But does it stand a chance against its rival Star Wars?

The film
It was filmed in Canada and the USA.
It was one of the fastest turn around films to cinema release done for a major studio. Filming began in February 2019 and finished in May 2019 ready for December 2019. Most films complete filming over a year before their release.
Jack Black counts this as the fourth Jumanji movie.
Like ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’, this film is about to compete with another Star Wars film.
The world of Jumanji will be expanded beyond the jungle as the group will explore a desert and mountain landscape.
In January 2019, Danny DeVito, Danny Glover and Awkwafina joined the cast.
Henry Jackman created the musical score having worked on the first film.
It looks set to make $40 million it its opening week.
Many have praised Kevin Harts performance in this film, some even going as far as saying he makes the film.
Kasdan says the story is a continuation of the film two years ago and is set a little less than a year later. He goes on to say “we’re rejoining those kids as they’re coming home for Christmas break from the various places they’ve been — at school, traveling around — and that’s where we join our heroes again.”
