If I could describe this month in one word it would be BOILING. August really let us enjoy the last of this summer weather, even if there were a few showers along the way (hey we are in London after all). If I’ve learnt anything this month it is to not travel on the central line when its warm. There’s a lot to catch you up on…
The office
This month marks the first anniversary of my monthly catch up blogs! Astonishing how quickly a year has gone. If you want to have a little #throwback, you can read my first ever catch up blog here!
We had three new interns in with us! Here are some mini profiles of them to get to know them better and look out for them across our social media!
Susan is back from China! While she was there she met with a Chinese TV drama production company, visited Bilibili and met with the team there and visited JSBC. Once she was back in London she brought along with her some gifts for everyone. Susan is the best!
I had myself a little holiday in Croatia at the beginning of August. I promise to tell the truth and nothing but the truth, Croatia is my new favourite place. It. Was. Stunning. Plus any Game of Thrones fans out there you are basically walking around the Kings Landing set so go go go! If you went this month and heard someone singing the GOT theme tune from start to finish, it was probably me #noregrets.
Making the most of the bank holiday, Chloe was in Wales at the Gladstone Library for a writing course with fellow writers. While there, also went for lots of country walks, picked blackberries, visited some local pubs and played games. What a weekend!
I wonder if I will ever get bored of this view? It’s been a year and it’s certainly not happened yet? Let’s see what I am saying this time next year.
What better way to end the month than with a lunch with the team enjoying
In the news
August is not only known for being prime time holiday month, it is also known for it being results month. Everyone can understand that fear and uncertainty in the days leading up to results day. However, The Sun had an answer to this fear and featured Josh alongside two other entrepreneurs on their Snapchat stories talking about what they had gone on to achieve after not getting the results they had hoped for. Josh said “you have to pick stuff up along the way and learn it as best you can essentially.” Watch the whole story here.
Josh not only was featured in The Sun but was also featured on PACT’s website in their behind the producer series. As a way of getting to know more about Josh, PACT asked him to answer some questions about his work but also about him as a person. When asked what his biggest professional setback taught him he replied, “To never get too high and to never get too low.” Read the full article here.
Events
Josh was invited to speak at Soho Media Club’s event alongside a number of other individuals in the industry. They spoke about their work, their 5 year plan and what they would change about the industry. Josh was in fact on a panel with another Wilson (Andy Wilson). Soho Media Club’s twitter asked, brothers from another mother?
Altogether a lot of travelling for us. See you next month!
PS. If in doubt, stretch it out…
