As a production company, we are diverse in the ideas we come up with. It can be for a documentary, or a factual entertainment programme. It is interesting to know what kind of ideas each individual prefers to watch, and if that influences what ideas they come up with. So the team let me know what type of programme they would ideally see being commissioned.

I’ve always been a huge scripted drama fan. There is nothing like seeing an exciting, rich story play out on screen and seeing it grip the nation for 4-12 weeks or so. They can become true cultural events and that is what we want to create here.

As a lifelong collector, reader and, in more recent times, broadcaster and author of all things American comic books, my dream TV series would be about the creatives and consumers of this fabulous world, exploring what I consider to be a unique and unheralded art-form. It’s funny, you go to Paris and see people quite happily reading bandes-dessines comic strip books on the Metro on the morning commute or to down-town Tokyo and there are vending machines of Japanese manga books, a thousand pages thick covering all kinds of subjects from superheroes to social issues. And yet here in the UK, comics are only to be read, apparently, up to the age of about seven before you read ‘proper’ books. I have a format in my bottom drawer broadcasting each week from a comicon somewhere in the world where we see millions of dollars changing hands for 1930s Batman and Superman comics, where cosplayers dress as their favourite superheroes, we meet the artists and writers who bring to light some tough and searching world issues through the medium of comics, latest movie news, on the red carpet, at the after movie party, interviews with actors and directors, new games, role-play and VR, horror and fantasy, swords and light-sabres, the latest in cult collectible merchandise past and present – who know that an original Lego Death Star in worth ten grand now? – and all presented by me in a time machine so I could go back and buy all this stuff and also spend more time with some of the greats I have met like Stan Lee (creator of the Marvel Universe), Jerry Seigel (co-creator of Superman) and Bob Kane (creator of Batman).

My ideal programme to get commissioned is relevant to history/culture/food and nature, the personal reason is that I love this kind of stuff. And other type may be some behind the scenes stories, because people always have curiosity about many things, if we explore the world behind the scenes, such as behind some jobs, behind some phenomenon etc, that would be very interesting!

My ideal type of programme would be called “Queen Elizabeth: What I really think”. In an age where we can find out what everyone thinks on social media, even if we didn’t care. I would love to know what the most powerful person in the UK really thinks about things.

I’ve always loved the idea of a ‘revolution’- the idea of giving power to the people- change the world as they know it-and that is what i think is my ideal programme to get commissioned. A type of show that not only makes people think, it changes and enhances the way we think- for good. I’ve grown up feeling and wanting to change, revitalise, revolutionise and give change to the world. Hopefully I can give the programme that will give exactly that.

My ideal programme to get commissioned is one that enacts real change in society or raises awareness on important issues. Television is a fantastic way of relaying information to the masses, and as filmmakers I feel it’s our duty to use this highly accessible platform to make a real difference, as cheesy as that sounds!

I have a passion for shows that highlight social injustices around the world. The main shows I am drawn to are ones that show the audience the facts about different societies, and what is being done that is so different to our own. My ideal type of programme, would be something that is informative, educational but also something that drives change. Shows like Black Fish and Blue Planet have helped inspire change in society for the better.

I really like documentaries that record the world’s interesting things. I like this kind of documentary that is close to nature or tells things that people are not easily aware of in their daily lives. It must have subtle shooting, nice background music, perfect story rhythm, and most importantly, realistic and detailed material. It can successfully attract viewers and give viewers a new perspective to discover and explore areas they don’t know. On the basis of satisfying all of this, it also needs to be both full of science and education and entertainment, so that the audience can’t stop. That may be one of my ideal programme.

If possible, I hope I can make a type of programme that explores and documents something that is undiscovered or unknown traditional handicraft by those craftsmen around the world. On the one hand, the outside mainstream culture is attacking these kinds of traditional skills, thus so many original artistic cultures are in danger of dying out. In this way, it is necessary to bring them to the public’s attention. On the other hand, when the protection of traditional handicraft is essential, it is also important to think about how to combine these traditional techniques with creative ways in order to achieve sustainable development.

I’m particularly interested in British accents. I want to make a documentary about accents in different parts of Britain. We all have different expressions and pronunciations for the same object. While looking at the differences, it would be good to look at what people think about different accents. We also could look to see why there are different accents and learn about them from different linguists. This will not only teach an audience about different accents, but also let people in the world know about diversified British accents.
