U.K.-based Wilson Worldwide Productions and Canada’s New Franchise Media are developing the action-crime novel as a drama series in China

UK-based indie producer Wilson Worldwide Productions has pacted with Canada’s New Franchise Media to develop Archer’s 2005 action-thriller as a high-octane Chinese TV drama. The small screen adaptation will be overseen by Susan Tang, head of WWP’s Asia division based in Beijing and a former drama exec at the Shanghai Media Group.

False Impression is an action-crime novel set on several continents. Jeffrey Steiner, the former Toronto bureaucrat behind Pinewood Toronto Studios, holds the worldwide film, TV and digital rights to ten thriller novels by Archer, with an eye to striking international co-productions to bring them to the screen.
