Susan Tang: Who is Wilson Worldwide?

This week in our Who is Wilson Worldwide blog post, we get to know the highly intelligent and talented Susan Tang. She is the force behind our Asia department. Having worked in production for 12 years she is well experienced in what it takes to create interesting content. We asked her to answer a few questions about herself!

What is your job title?

Head of Asia

What is your job description/ what are your responsibilities?

Development for TV formats/ TV drama and other media projects between UK and Asia, especially with China.

How long have you worked here?

1 year and 6 months

What were you doing before you worked here?

I worked in the TV Drama and Movie Department of Shanghai Media Group for 12 years, my previous job role was a combination of being a commissioning editor and a script consultant. I was also responsible for promoting TV drama for prime time slots on Shanghai’s main TV channels.

What is the best thing about your job?

Working with a team of passionate, energetic and experienced people, that is full of diversity and inspiration!

What is your favourite project that you have worked on?

A Chinese TV Drama named “Regret Love”, it was about two girls’ whose fate totally changed after one mother had swapped them secretly…Full of turns and twists…

What made you want to work in TV production?

I was the TV-generation in China, and I have always be very interested in drama.

For anyone wanting to work in TV production what advice would you give them?

You need to have knowledge, passion, patience and creativity. Plus, always keep an observation on daily life.

Any hobbies outside of work?

Travelling, photography of landscapes and nature!

Favourite programme to watch that is on at the moment and why?

The BBC Documentary “Civilization”, it has lots of history and background stories, and I am always interested in history, I love these stories!

What is your favourite quote or saying?

The methods of solving problem are always more than problems themselves.- An experienced TV industry lady once said.
