It is the first 2019 monthly catch up!
With it being the 150th day of January, I have lost count as to how many times I have heard the saying/ cliche “It’s a New Year new me!” but as it’s the end of the month, I wonder just how many people have stuck to this ‘new me’ attitude. Another January tradition seems to be setting a New Year’s resolutions, but how many people have stuck to those? In the office it seems not many of us set a New Years resolution (we must be perfect just the way we are), but to those who did, we can confirm they have stuck with them…..so far, look at that WWP willpower!
Both Josh and Chloe had been away over the Christmas period. Josh was in Toronto and then Cuba for two weeks while Chloe came back from visiting family and working a bit in China! One of my favourite things about working in Social Media is you get to see the pictures that didn’t quite make it to the sites. However, when they are too good to hide you have to share. Like this photo of Josh who had a little trouble with his cigar behind the scenes.
Chloe was in China and Hong Kong over the break, and she sent me some pictures of her time out there.
In her own words she told me to post this one as she said ‘post this one I look great’.
In the office
We were happy to be back to our development meetings, it is one of my favourite things getting to catch up with everyone.
4 people came to do some work experience this month! We had Tom, Khai, Imaan and David with us. If you want to get to know more about them, the links to all of our social media sites are at the bottom of this blog.
If you read our monthly blog you will see that nearly everyone month we seem to have a habit of matching outfits in the office, and this time it was Ajeta and Chloe who turned up in identical outfits. I think this is the closest we have ever had to the outfits being identical.
It was discovered when I asked the team about themselves in our ‘Day in the Life’ blog series, that most of the team struggle to get up in the mornings and that may be the reason we consume coffee on the daily (Coffee sponsorship offers are welcome). Witness below our coffee dash.
January has meant a new look for me, as I now need glasses. Here is Josh modelling the new look..
When I arrived in July, one of the first things I posted about was Josh’s podcast with SapTribe. It turns out that that podcast was SapTribes third most downloaded podcast that year! If you missed out on this podcast, then go see why it was so popular by clicking here!
The first sign of snow appeared in London in January. Anyone else hate the snow when they have to leave the house and love it when you don’t have to go anywhere. Just me? I am a certified Bambi on ice so I will be glad if that is the last of the snow we see.
Our very own fashion guru Chloe was showing the team just how you should be picture ready at any time. As Chloe was told to strike a pose, this was her immediate reaction. A master of fashion as well as production.
After discussing fashion week, I got caught practicing my model walk in the office. The walk may still need a bit of work yet.
January Events
Josh and some of the team were invited to the opening of the new Tonight Josephine bar in Shoreditch. We spent the last bit of our christmas party in the Waterloo branch so we were very excited for this. As expected the new venue was glorious and a goodie bag never hurts either.
Josh was busy with Genisys this month as he had two school visits. One at the City and islington sixth form and one at the City and Islington College. These visits allow Josh to chat to the new generation about his experience of setting up his own business and his life after college. These visits are some of my favourite things to do. This is because I love getting to hear the questions the next generation of tv production/ media students want to know about our industry.
Josh was asked to be a part of The Love Talkin podcast with Monica Wadwa. Josh was discussing his work and life as an entrepreneur.
We had a busy month filming. We were out and about in London braving the chilly weather.
Working in London, my inner tourist always comes out at least once a month. January was no different. I had the opportunity to get snapping while we were out for a secret project (all to be revealed next month) next to The Shard. Plus it was hard to miss capturing this sunset from the office.
Lastly, as a picture says a 1000 words, here is a short story.
