Former Endemol executive joins Wilson Worldwide Productions

A former Endemol producer has joined fledgling indie television production company Wilson Worldwide Productions.

James Roberts has been appointed as the company’s Commercial Director and will report directly to the CEO, Josh Wilson.

Roberts has had a long and distinguished career in UK television, beginning in 1985, being involved in the production of some of the nation’s most popular and talked about programmes including Ant and Dec’s Take Away (ITV1), Have I Got News for You (BBC2), Stars in their Eyes (ITV1), Birth Night Live (C5), Brainiac (SKY1) and They Think it’s All Over (BBC2).

During his five years at Endemol, Roberts was responsible for numerous projects across the company’s output. Additionally, he oversaw the theatrical feature documentary Blue Moon Rising, which documented Manchester City Football Club’s 2009/2010 season and was released in cinemas in September 2010.

More recently Roberts was Line Producer for Joanna Lumley – Searching for Elvis (ITV1) and the feature length documentary on George Michael; Freedom (C4)

Roberts joins Wilson Worldwide after working with the team on Mission Mudder (Sky Mix) and Chasing The Dream, which airs across Sky channels in the autumn.

“We’re happy to secure James’ services as he has a solid track record and brings a new dynamic to our team here,” said CEO, Josh Wilson. “We pride our company ethos on diversity in the workplace in order to produce and develop well-rounded ideas and James has been a great ambassador of that ideal.”

Roberts replied: “Whilst I have been working at Wilson Worldwide I have been so impressed by the fresh, positive, enthusiasm that everyone has. It is a young and ambitious company that I am now delighted to be part of.”
