Everything you need to know about Spider-Man: Far From Home

Spider-Man: Far From Home is the first film to arrive after Avengers: Endgame. If you have not seen that film then reading any further may cause some spoiler alerts but also where have you been?! As we know Stark is dead and the future of the Avengers is unknown. So can Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man fill Iron Man’s shoes or should I say suit?

About the film

UK release 2nd July 2019.

Spider-Man: Far from home is rated a 12 A with a run time of 2 hours 9 minutes.

It was directed by Jon Watts who has also worked on ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ and ‘ Clown’.

Of course the film stars Tom Holland and Zendaya. The cast is also joined by Jake Gyllenhaal, who has also starred in ‘Everest’, ‘Source Code’ and ‘Nocturnal Animals’. Gyllenhaal will be playing Quentin Beck / Mysterio.

This will be the 23rd film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Filming began in July 2018 and finished in October 2018.

The first poster for the film was revealed on January 15th 2019.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Holland wanted Jason Momoa to play Kraven The Hunter in the movie.

Peter’s passport says that his birthday is on August 10th. Spider – Man’s first appearance was in Amazing Fantasy #15 which was also released on August 10th in 1962.

Matt Damon reportedly turned down the role to play the villan.

Tom Holland announced the name of this film via Instagram.

Originally Gyllenhaal was going to replace Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man after Maguire got injured when he was Spider-Man. However Maguire’s injuries healed in time to carry on filming.

It was rumored that Dr Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) would be in this film although this was quickly shut down by producer Kevin Feige.

This will be the last film in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It is heavily suggested that the film would introduce a new baddie.

Samuel L JAckson and Jon Favreau both appeared in the first film of Phase 1 which was Iron Man and both will appear in the final movie of Phase 3.

After announcing the film at the premier of Avengers: Endgame, Kevin Feige received backlash amongst fans as it indicated that Peter Parker would return from the dead in Endgame as he had ‘died’ in Avengers: Infinity War.

As with all Marvel films, don’t forget to stay during the credits for extra scenes! There will be one during the credits and one at the very end!
